Private ADHD Assessments for Adults

Using assessment tools in line with the UK NICE guidelines (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence)

Over time, I found that more and more clients were questioning whether ADHD might be part of their experience.

While a full psychiatric assessment can be invaluable for some, it can also feel like a significant step, both financially and practically, particularly for those who are simply seeking clarity.

I therefore undertook UKAAN training in ADHD assessment, enabling me to offer a structured, clinically grounded way of exploring this question.

These sessions are offered in line with my standard therapy fees, providing a thoughtful and accessible first step for those looking to understand their experience more clearly.

DOES THIS FEEL FAMILIAR?……

You may have started to wonder…

  • Why do I struggle to focus when others seem to manage?

  • Why do I leave things until the last minute — even when I care?

  • Why does everything feel either urgent or impossible?

  • Why can I be so capable in some areas, and completely stuck in others?

  • Why does life feel more effortful than it should?

You might have come across ADHD and something about it resonates.
But you’re not quite sure.

The Process

    What to expect

In an initial 90-minute session, we will:

Work through 2 diagnostic assessment tools

Explore your current challenges in depth

Look at patterns across your life (past and present)

Consider how your attention, motivation, and energy systems work

Identify whether ADHD is a likely explanation or whether something else may be driving your experience

  • Geometric drawing of an outline square with sections divided by vertical, horizontal, and half circle lines.

    What you leave with

A clearer understanding of what is happening for you

A sense of whether ADHD is likely to be part of the picture

Guidance on next steps (including whether a formal diagnosis would be helpful)

Next steps would include practical tools tailored to your specific patterns

For many people, this clarity alone is a turning point.

    What this is not

This session does not provide a formal medical diagnosis or access to medication.

If ADHD is indicated and you would like to pursue diagnosis, I can guide you through the next steps and appropriate referral pathways.

It is, however, a clinically informed and structured process not a general conversation.

    Who this is for

Adults wondering if they may have ADHD

High-functioning individuals who feel they are “just about coping”

Those who don’t want to rush straight into medical diagnosis

People who want both understanding and practical strategies

WHY THIS APPROACH WORKS

ADHD rarely exists in isolation.

Many people experiencing ADHD-like symptoms are also dealing with:

  • Burnout

  • Sleep disruption

  • Nervous system dysregulation

  • Anxiety / depression

  • Trauma

By looking at the whole picture, we can avoid mislabelling and focus on what will actually help.

WHAT WE WILL USE

Structured Diagnostic Interviews alongside assessment tools;

DIVA (Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in Adults)

CAADID (Conners’ Adult ADHD Diagnostic Interview)

These are gold-standard structured interviews used in clinical diagnosis.

  • "I have wondered and wondered and wondered, and now I know, it's such a relief."

    - Therapy client

  • "Knowing why some things feel so hard makes it feel so much better, now instead of blaming myself I just try a different way."

    Therapy client

  • Before this, I thought I was just bad at life. The assessment explained a lot, it was working with Candida that really changed things. She helped me understand my brain in a way that felt compassionate. I’ve gone from feeling overwhelmed and self-critical to feeling more steady, capable, and hopeful.
